MOV to Plex

Why MOV files not played with Plex app on Samsung TV?

As the Plex app on different devices has different media performance capability, only a MOV files is stored in a compatible file container, bit rate, codecs and resolution will be able to direct played on a device with the Plex app. If the MOV file is encoded with compatible resolution and media type but incompatible file container, then the file can be directly streamed to your device. If the MOV media contains incompatible video/audio track, Plex Media Server will transcode the media.

Sometimes, the devices such as NAS devices that run Plex app may lacks the powerful processor to perform a media transcoding process or the boot drive on your device is very small, it would be ideal for you to disable Plex transcoding process. To fix all those issues, you are then recommened to use a third-party conversion app such as Pavtube Video Converter for Windows/Mac to convert the incompatible mov files to your device Plex app compatible video file formats.

To find all the required playback settings for your device, you can consult your device's documentation. And then, in the program's profile settings window, you can adjust the output video codec, resolution, bit rate, frame rate and audio codec, bit rate, sample rate and channels to let them fit with your device Plex app.

Besides MOV, you can also use the program to convert other incompatible file formats such as MP4, AVI, WMV, FLV, MKV, VOB, WTV, M2TS, AVCHD MTS, etc to specific device app supported video audio codec, container and resolution.
