Pavtube's iMedia Converter for Mac is a dream come true to me!

I've been searching for more than a year of a way to convert and enjoy my huge DVD's and Blu-ray collection of movies and concerts. Finally my search has come to an end!! This software is so simple to use and gives me exactly what i was looking for. I'm saving and digitalizing my entire collection and now been able to put them on iTunes and watch them wirelessly on my Apple TV 2 with extraordinary quality of Audio (DD 5.1) and Video. (1280x720) I tried several softwares and I can tell you that NO ONE comes even close to the simpleness and great quality that Pavtubes softwares deliver. The time it takes to convert in this software is almost half that in other.

If you are like me that enjoy having everything organized and save memory space while keeping the original quality of your HD movies and videos then THIS IS WHAT YOU WERE LOOKING FOR! 12, February, 2012

It works great

Yes, we're using it to convert mxf files taken off a P2 video card - and it works great - love it! We were using iSkysoft iMedia Converter for everything, but it didn't do MXF files, so we had to find you - thanks again. 2, June, 2011

Pavtube makes great products I believe

I heard about Pavtube by researching online also i seen a few Videos on Youtube , Pavtube makes great products I believe, I already purchased iMedia Converter, and also Pavtube Blu-ray converter. I was using RER Video Converter which worked great , but if I had to compare the two I would say that Pavtube is 10 times better than RER Video Converter , It is much simpler to use, and a ot faster. I usually use the format HD - H.264 (.mov), I really like the quality of that format. 30, March, 2010

Intergated and easy-to-use program

The software worked on the blu-ray I tried – which was great – it is fantastic to have one integrated program that can convert blu-rays instead of having to use multiple programs to convert then transcode into the format you want. Thanks for having a Mac Version. It is easy enough to use for conversion – simply select the output type and off you go. 14, May, 2010

Fast conversion speed

I tried converting a Blu-ray copied to my hard drive (it was 38GB), and it worked fine. I bought a new computer for faster conversion, and now I can convert a Blu-ray movie in about 2.5 hours! 27, June, 2010

Creates iPhone 4 video with high quality

I convert Avatar to the new iPhone 4 at 720P and the picture quality is spellbinding. Everyone that has seen it says "Good God". One other thing, I have the Samsung SP-H03 micro projector. It runs the Avatar iPhone4 movies in 720P from a microSD card in the unit and that is pure eye candy. I tell you this so you know that you can master movies for this unit and use the iPhone 4 format. 4, July, 2010

Backs up BR and DVD to media center

I’ve not used it much yet...this is the 1st ALLinONE (nice logo!...:-) ) I've seen...Cool!. I like to use the MKV and AVI formats with the highest resolution possible. I will be using it for backing up my BR/DVD to my home entertainment center (LG 55 inch LCD), which can then be used directly from my TV menu. I will let you know when I start playing with it more...so far it seems to be a very nice little program. 27, July, 2010

Convert Blu-ray movie to MKV at 1080p or 720p

My main use of the program is to convert my Blu-ray collection to the MKV format which your program does very well. I notice that MKVs are available on the net from settings 720p or 1080p. I have some MKV files that were not created in your software program, unfortunately, on playback they are very jerky on my Samsung TV. However, I'm pleased to confirm that if I recompile them in your software they play perfect. While I have this opportunity I would like to confirm how happy I am with your product. 10, August, 2010

Q:I have tried to install the latest version of "iMedia Converter for Mac" to my iMac G5 24inch/2.4GHz Core2Duo (4GB memory) OSX 10.5.8/Japanese, however the installer says something like:

Install Failed!
The installer could not install some files in "/Applications". Contact the software manufacturer for assistance.
How can I treat this?

A: Pavtube has been updated to support the coming Mac Mountain Lion system. This new pkg file may have problem to install on Mac OSX 10.5.8. If you have this problem pls download the special installation file for Mac OSX 10.5.8 from below link.
http://download.pavtube.com/imedia-converter-mac/imediaconvertermac_install.dmg
Further question, you can contact macsupport@pavtube.com.

Q: We have a pavtube app in order to be able to convert MXF files created on a Panasonic AJ-HPX3100G camera, but it's unable to read the MXF files now in the software. In the preview window, the picture is gray. If I convert it to mov or any other format, the screen is also gray.

A: This problem may happen to MXF files recorded in AVC-Intra 100 mode. AVC-Intra is a new codec that further advances HD production. Currently pavtube can deal with the AVC-Intra 50 codec, in the camera recorder you can choose to shoot under AVC-Intra 50 mode, pavtube has no problem to convert it. We will add support for AVC-Intra 100 codec soon.

Q: What are the differences between the trial version and the retail version?

A: A trail version converts videos with watermark (the logo of Pavtube) on the screen and asks if you would like to purchase at each run, while a retail version allows you to use freely without putting on watermark.

Q:I want to use your Pavtube to convert my blu-ray, but I have no external Blu-ray drive.
Can you recommend me an external Blu-ray drive for Mac or Windows?

A: Yes. We would like to recommend you several Mac or Windows compatible external Blu-ray drives available from Amazon.
For Mac external Blu-ray drive recommendation please see here.
For Windows external Blu-ray drive recommendation please see here.

Q: What are the differences between the trial version and the retail version?

A: A trail version converts videos with watermark (the logo of Pavtube) on the screen and asks if you would like to purchase at each run, while a retail version allows you to use freely without putting on watermark. Besides, the trail version allows you to use 'Disk Copy' option for three times only.

Q: I just purchased Pavtube (so I have the latest version). I am using it to convert my camera video files into a format that is compatible with Final Cut Pro for video editing. But none of the FCP formats seem to work. The conversion takes place but I only get an audio file and no video. Final Cut Pro (nor any other program) cannot open these files. Converting the video files to other formats i.e. Quicktime HD, works perfectly well, but none of the "Final Cut Pro" presets do. Is there something I'm missing or is there a bug in the program?

A: To convert correctly with Final Cut Pro output formats it is required your computer must be installed with FCP, otherwise there will only be audio without video in the generated file.

Q: Trying to convert MXF files from Canon XF300, the below error messages come up.

"There are 1 MXF files without source audio files. Please put the relative source audio files to the same directory with the MXF videos, or to the relative Audio folder, and import the MXF video files again. The mentioned MXF video files: If the converted files are abnormalities of voice sound , please contact the customer support."
There are no more files that I can add and all files are in teh same directory with mxf same results with no sound form hard disk after import through canon xf utility or straight from CF card.

A: This problem has been fixed in latest release on March 19, 2012,pls make sure you are using the latest version. If not, pls download the update from your pavtube account or contact macsupport@pavtube.com for a download link of update.

Q: My videos were recorded by my HD camcorder, there are many stripes and noises on the picture after conversion, why should this happen?

A: Some footages are taken under interlacing mode, and this lead to stripes and lines on the screen. To eliminate the lines, you may follow 'Edit' menu-> 'Effect' tab and check 'Deinterlacing' box before conversion. As to the noise, when you apply the special effect mode "Simple Gauss Blur" from the drop-down list, the noise will be reduced greatly.

Q: My widescreen movies (16x9) aren't staying widescreen after conversion. I don't want the video to be stretched and made taller. What can I do?

A: Click 'Settings' button and set the Video Size to 1920*1080/ 1280*720/ 960*540 etc before converting the movie.

Q: How to play the ripped Blu-ray M2TS files after I choose "Directly Copy" format and get M2TS file?

A: VLC player and KMplayer can play M2TS file.

Q: Can I copy the whole DVD into a Video_TS folder? Which profile should I choose?

A: One click on the Disk Copy button is all you need to copy the DVD into standard Video_TS folder. The entire content on the DVD will be copied to your hard drive in the shortest time with this option.

Q: I am trying to backup my blu-ray disc to hard drive. What format should I choose to maintain best quality?

A: You are suggested to try Disk Copy button. It enables you to back up the disc bit-to-bit with shortest time and flawless quality.

Q: Does the software handle HD Audio such as DTS MA, or Dolby True HD Dolby? Is there any way to create TrueHD and DTS MA?

A: Our product just allows you to import the true HD and DTS MA audio, but outputs up to AAC/ AC3 5.1 Channels surround sound only. To get TrueHD or DTS MA audio, you must choose "Disk Copy" option when ripping blu-ray disc, and the source audio must be TrueHD or DTS MA track.

Q: I have just downloaded the new update for the software, do I need to uninstall my older version prior installing the new one or I just install the new application on top of the old one. Please advice.

A: You are encouraged to uninstall the older version in the first place. However, you might also install the new update on top of the older version.

Q: I have purchased the software but it won't take the code I have. What should I do?

A: Please remove the trial version and then download the retail version from your registration download link. Install the retail version, copy and paste your registration code to the register field. Notice that you should not leave any space before the code.

Q: How can I set the output file name?

A: Please find the column named 'Destination File' on file list. Double click the output name and then you can type in desired output file name.

Q: I'd like to eliminate black bars (edges) from the movie, what should I do?

A: Click 'Edit' button to enter into the edit panel and switch to the Crop tab, then just drag the dashed frame on the video screen of the original preview window to cut off the unwanted parts to get the right aspect ratio you need.

Q: A disk I was testing had over 100 files in the folder and it was a pain to just select the two files I wanted. Is there any way for me to uncheck all the files that are pre-selected?

A: Right-click on file list area to select "Check all" and "Uncheck all". Or check/ uncheck the small box in file information bar (next to "Name")

Q: I am trying to capture a still picture from a video clip to use as a song background. Is it possible?

A: Yes. You can double-click the file and preview it with the app, under the preview window there is a 'Snapshoot' button. Click the button when it plays to the frame you would like to capture. And you can locate the thumbnails by clicking the 'Open' button next to 'Snapshoot' button.
